FAQ

Getting started

What is Together We Lose?

A privacy-first tracker and community that turns simple daily logs and tags (walk, late dinner, etc.) into personal insights and anonymized cohort comparisons.

Do I need my real name?

No. We never require your real name. Only your Profile Name is shown—and only if you choose to make it visible.

How do I sign up?

Use email (magic link) or sign in with Google/Apple/Microsoft. No passwords required.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It’s mobile-friendly and installable as a PWA (Add to Home Screen). Works great on desktop too.

Privacy & security

What data do you collect?

Weight logs, optional measurements, optional tags (walk, late dinner, etc.), and basic profile fields (age band, sex, country, starting BMI band). No real names required.

Who can see my data?

Only you. Public charts use anonymized aggregates. We suppress any view with small samples (e.g., n < 30–50) and bucket public counts for privacy.

Do you sell my data?

No. We do not sell your personal data. Aggregates may be shared (e.g., “median % lost at week 12”), never individual logs.

Is my data secure?

Yes—TLS in transit, encryption at rest, strict row-level access, least-privilege service access. You can export or delete your data anytime.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Delete from Settings → Account. This removes your personal data; anonymized aggregates remain (they can’t be tied back to you).

Insights & cohorts

How do comparisons work?

We group people by age band, sex, country, starting BMI band, medication, and dose, align by weeks since start, and show medians + percentiles. If samples are too small, we hide or broaden the cohort (clearly labeled).

Are these medical recommendations?

No. Insights are informational. Always work with your clinician for medical advice.

What about medications and doses?

You can log meds and dose changes to see your trend alongside anonymized community patterns. We’ll never tell you what to take or when to change a dose.

How do “tag impacts” work?

We look at typical 48–72h weight change after days with a tag (e.g., walk, late dinner). Results are observational and shown only when sample sizes are large enough.

What’s the forecast card?

A short-range estimate based on your recent trend blended with your cohort’s typical trajectory. We show a range, not a promise, and label it clearly as not medical advice.

Logging & goals

What should I log daily?

Weight + 1–3 tags that describe your day. Monthly measurements are optional but helpful.

How do streaks work?

Logging once per day grows your streak. You’ll get milestones (7, 30, 90 days). One “Freeze” per month can protect a streak if you miss a day.

Can I set goals?

Yes—set a weight or %-loss goal. We’ll track progress and milestones (5%, 10%, etc.).

Community & safety

Will others see my profile?

Only if you opt in to show your Profile Name. You can remain anonymous.

Comments & teams—what are the rules?

Be supportive; no shaming, no medical claims. Report abuse with one tap; repeat offenders are removed.

Leaderboards?

We highlight consistency (opt-in) rather than “biggest loss.” Healthy progress > unhealthy competition.

Pricing & Founders

Is it free?

Core features are free. Founders (early members) receive lifetime Core access and a Founders badge. Some advanced features may become paid later; we’ll be clear and fair.

How do referrals work?

Invite a friend. When they complete a 7-day streak, you both earn rewards. (Exact perks shown in-app.)

Technical bits

Why do numbers on the homepage show ranges?

We bucket public stats (e.g., “10–49 members”) to improve privacy and avoid re-identification.

Why can’t I see a specific chart?

If the sample size is too small for your exact cohort, we either show a broader cohort (labeled) or an empty-state message until more data arrives.

Can I export my data?

Yes—download CSV from Settings → Data Export.

What if I spot a bug?

Use Settings → Help or the contact form to send details. Screenshots help us fix things fast.
